Alexandra “Alex” Eala was born on May 23, 2005, in Quezon City. She comes from a family of athletes—her mother, Rizza Maniego-Eala, was a national swimmer. At just 4 years old, Alex started hitting balls at the Manila Polo Club and later trained at the Rafa Nadal Academy in Spain.
She began to shine early, winning titles and making a name for herself in the junior circuits. Her breakout came when she won the 2020 Australian Open junior doubles title with Indonesia’s Priska Nugroho.
🏆 Climbing the Ranks
After her junior success, Alex began transitioning to the professional tour. She won her first pro title in 2021 at the W15 Manacor tournament in Spain. Since then, she has competed in multiple ITF events and WTA tournaments, holding her own against more experienced players.
